We were scrambling to get everything set for my daughter’s wedding day. Her day and evening were the most beautiful and perfect thing ever. The reception which we have nicknamed the ‘best party ever’ was only a real success because of all the music & the fun that sprang from that. Thanks for the big band reception music and the string quartet church music. We have happily recommended The Special Edition Band more times than I can count! Thanks for helping me give my daughter the wedding day and reception she dreamed of.

The Special Edition Band is fun, energetic and versatile variety band. They get the party started and keep it moving and a full dance floor. John and the entire group are a joy with which to work as well. John is quick to respond to emails and very organized. It’s always a pleasure to work with John and the Special Edition Band. ALSO, we have hired the band several times for our member events too!

I am honored to provide a reference letter for John Adams and The Special Edition Band. I found them originally on “The Knot” wedding website when I was planning our wedding, which was held on Saturday October 26th, 2019. My now husband and I went to go see them preform after seeing their reviews on “The Knot” at a venue in Addison, and immediately knew The Special Edition Band needed to be the band that we booked for our wedding.
Throughout the entire wedding planning process, John was my main contact for entertainment. He was able to help organize and provide music for all parts of the wedding including pre ceremony seating, the ceremony itself, dinning, and all reception music. Which took a lot of precise timing, organization, patience and it was all executed perfectly.
I would like to elaborate on the “reception” music provided by The Special Edition Band as I still receive compliments on them to this day from the guests at our wedding. Not only was The Special Edition Band impressive in talent and skill but they, without a doubt, know how to work a crowd and make everyone feel special. I will cite three examples of this. First, The Special Edition Band learned our first dance song for us, and it was incredible. It made our dance even more special to have a live band sing while we danced, and it really meant a lot to us that they put in the extra time and effort to learn something so special to us. Second, during the “Shout” rendition one of the vocalists invited one of the groomsmen on stage to sing and dance with the band. He and the rest of the groomsmen thought that was pretty cool and he still talks about “how awesome it was I got to go on stage during y’alls reception.” Lastly, during multiple songs the members of the band came into the audience to interact with the guests that were dancing. Most memorable was when the horns came into the audience and danced with everyone while they were playing- my cousin still tells me how cool and personable that was.
In conclusion, John Adams and The Special Edition Band are an amazing group of talented, kind and professional artists who know how to have a good time and make sure everyone else does too. I cannot stress enough how highly I recommend them to be a preferred vendor and the Band of choice at any venue.

The Special Edition Band was definitely the highlight of my wedding on 6/29/19. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to get everyone on the dance floor, singing the hearts out and dancing all night long. The band was so engaging and we loved how they would come on the dance floor and engage with our guests. The horns, singers and guitarists would come down, and it was fun to be able to dance and sing with them. I can’t tell you how many guests of ours have asked about our band, or told us how amazing they were. It was such a fun night! If I could do it all again, I would hire them in a heartbeat! I do not have enough good things to say about Special Edition.

I had a delightful experience working with John Adams and Special Edition Band.
My husband and I went to see them twice before we decided to use them for our daughter’s wedding. Both times we planned to just stay 20 min. but enjoyed them so much we stayed longer.
John was great to work with and open to music suggestions. He had great song play lists already set up for us. John was honest, helpful, organized and made the process seamless.
My daughter’s wedding night was perfect. The Classical Trio played for the ceremony and reception and then the full band after dinner. I really loved that the band members came right out on the dance floor with the guests and were so interactive. They added cute hats, and every minute became more and more fun. The music was just perfect and I can’t recommend them enough!

Since they have been performing for events at The Annex, spanning all the way back

My wife and I have worked with, and listened to, a multitude of bands while attending weddings and other events. They stand alone. Beyond the professionalism they displayed throughout every phase of the process, the Special Edition Band took genuine ownership over the entertainment experience for our wedding.

From the cocktail hour, where they warmed the night up for our guests as a jazz trio, to the standing ovation and encore for the last song of the night, our guests were complimentary of the Special Edition Band from the moment the doors opened and they continue to roll in to this day.

To put it simply, we cannot get over how FANTASTIC The Special Edition Band was at our wedding this past Friday. Our guests have not stopped raving about how great the music was and how much fun the band was!! John and the band did ensemble jazz music during the dinner hour, and then switched to party music afterwards. To say they sounded amazing just doesn’t seem like enough! Despite very little guidance on musical selections from us, the band read the room like pros and played music that kept people on the dance floor the entire night! When I went up and spontaneously asked one of the band members if they could play a slow song, the band effortlessly glided into one and got every couple in the room out on the floor. When the song was over, they seized the opportunity presented by a crowded dance floor and broke out into the conga! SO much fun!!

My husband and I got married just over a month ago at the Fort Worth Club and we are still getting compliments on the band. When we got engaged, I had a list of “must haves” and a band was on the top of my list. I did some research, reached out to John from the band, and was invited to hear them play before we made our decision. After hearing they play at a local bar, we knew we HAD to have them at our wedding. Throughout the whole process, John was wonderful to work with, patient, always available to talk, and quick to respond to emails. The Special Edition Band MADE our wedding night! We had many guests never leave the dance floor except to grab another cocktail. They made our wedding so fun and we are so thankful that we found them. After announcing the last song of the night and performing it, all of our guests starting chanting, “We want more!” The Special Edition Band played one more song and the guests went wild!
